How might we engage gen z users to discover places they love, share favorites and log their experiences in one place?

Wayver is a map-first social discovery app that encourages gen z to
find new places they trust, share with friends and log their experiences.

I was a lead product designer on this project and collaborated closely
with product designers, brand designer, art director, C-suite execs,
engineering leads and a product manager.

How might we encourage users to seamlessly
check-in to a place in real-time?

Checking in is a core action in the app that lets users log a place real time
with auto-detected location and pre-filled states. A check-in lets your friends
know that you could be at a restaurant or shop nearby while it also creates a
timeline of all the places you’ve been .

Feature 001 –
Camera-first approach with pre-populated location to make real-time
check-ins as seamless as possible.

Feature 002 –

Notifications from camera roll to easily add photos with retroactive check-ins.

Feature 003 –
Express check-ins to allow for quick logs with minimum amount of
data required to check-in.

How might we create a brand that is minimal yet
dynamic so it lets user content shine?

I led the design efforts for creating a map marker system that would span
across different use cases such as home, search results and social signals.
